DAY 12: Another Mall and Hooters

So another day spent on the Fox valley mall.. HAY... they just can't get enough of them damn malls. Today is Sieg's and Aby's last day here and they're heading back home (lucky them). For some reason, i really really want to head back home now.. like what i said yesterday, it's just getting to damn lonely here.. and after they leave, it's just gonna be me and wowie left with my parents. I ain't got no problem with that, it's just that it's better if we're complete.

Anyway, after dinner we headed straight for Hooters. Hot chicks, hot chicken, cold beer and hot waitresses. That's just a nice way to end an evening. Anyway, i'll blog again tomorrow... nothing really happened today.. PEACE!

DAY 11: Downtown Chicago and The American Girl Store

The day was spent roaming around downtown Chicago along Michigan Avenue and having lunch at Goodlife located at the Water Tower with Tito Razil. I left the house wearing shorts and a huge jacket, though i wish i wore pants! It was so Fuckin' cold downtown compared to here in Westmont! Though Nay already warned me about the sudden weather changes downtown, of course knowing me, i wouldn't listen and just say "No it's not".. now i got a taste of my hardheadedness.. if there's such word. Anyway, during our stroll downtown we encountered this store called "The American Girl Store", so far this has been the weirdest store i've ever been in. From the moment i stepped inside, i knew i was lost and there was something wrong. The 3 storey store was for dolls.. i'm not exaggerating, the store was for dolls.. Doll Cafe, Doll Hair salon and the weirdest.. Doll Hospital where there was an actual emegency room! HOLY SHIT!! talk about doll obsession, i could still remember my dad's expression "ANO BA YAN! THE THINGS PEOPLE DO TO EARN MONEY! AND IT ACTUALLY WORKS!" i was so surprised to actually see people obsess with their dolls as if they were their kids! yeah, there were kids on the store but majority of the people there were middle aged ladies and old women.. sheesh!! anyway, kanya kanyang trip lang naman yan eh!

Tomorrow, it's Sieg's and Aby's last day here in the states since Aby's got summer classes and Sieg's got Thesis. How i wish i was heading home with them. It's getting pretty lonely here, especially when you know you're only a few hundred miles away from the person you want to hang with.. at least back home i'll be busy with the play and all, and i wouldn't be thinking of the Girl that much... hay.. buhay.. anyways, what else is there?!

Temperature:
Around 10 downtown plus below 10 winds.. (it would be ok if i wasn't wearing shorts)

DAY 10: LORDSTROM and NORD AND TAYLOR in Oakbrook

This is another shopping day for the family.. except for Me and Wowie (i forgot to mention, Wowie doesn't like shopping too). So the whole family was going around Oakbrook mall, looking for something to waste their money on while Me and Wowie drool over the new Jordans at Footlocker and laugh at the cocatians around us while calling them names in Tagalog. Yes, we are losers or maybe we were just extremely bored.. you decide (we're not losers). Anyway, I bought a football yesterday just so that i won't get too bored here at home and just so that i can burn the "American Fat" I gained these past few weeks. I gained 8 pounds.. i need that burned cabon! Moving on.. Corona's and Heiniken's have been my late night buddies these past few nights since i'm getting insomia attacks just like when i'm back home. So far, they haven't been helping me.. just yesterday, i ended up i think finishing 6 out of a 12 pack of Heiniken's yet i was still wide awake.. and i had to walk a mile to buy stoges since i ran out! oh yeah.. that was around 3 am.. just so that you know.. i'm not an alcoholic.. it's just that there's nothing to do here at night and we just bought a shit load of beer, so might as well just consume it right?! hehehe...

On football:
Zidane Retires, Barcelona and Arsenal on the Champion's League Final and a New Madrid President?! how come so much shit happened and it's just 3 days i haven't looked at football news.. what the hell?!

On Zinedine Zidane:
I've never been an fan, but he's got my respect. He's still considered the best player in the world. But i guess it's just his time to sit down and let the kids play. He's still got it in him, he's still Zidane.. he's still has the skill and stuff.. but i guess his decision on retiring after this season is for the best, so that he can retire at his prime and still be remembered as the best player in the world.

On Barcelona and Arsenal:
Two of my hatest teams in European football meet on the Champions league final in Paris. I was kinda hoping Milan and Villareal, though i hate Milan as much as the other guy and in know Milan will eat the Yellow Subs (Villareal) alive when they meet in the final but it's better than the Gunners (Arsenal) and the Catalans (Barcelona). i don't think i'll watch the final this seaason, beacuse of the teams in it.. but if i were to choose.. i'd rather Barcelona win than Arsenal.. Keep the Trophy in Spain!

On Madrid:
I don't even know if i want to comment on this.. It's been a Real Madrid tradition not to have a coach last for more than a season or sometimes just a season for their team. I don't know if they're planning to start another one with their presidents. Fernando Martin.. less than a year.. ok fine.. three months.. hay ewan...

DAY 9: The reason why it's called "The Windy City"

Yesterday, the weather was alright.. i mean, the weather was perfect for the people here since it's just really cold here. The temp was playing on the high 19's and low 14's.. that was during the day.. so everybody happy.. when the sun set.. the temperature dropped to 3 and the wind was just deadly. Me and Sieg went out for a yosi break, but we just couldn't handle the goddang wind! i think it was atleast 5 kph with the temp of 0. EASY LANG PARE!! hahaha! we just ditched the sticks and he went up and i stayed downstairs.. hehehe (chat with Joni, Anton, Gian and Krizia). And knowing me, pasaway ako eh! i just had to try and go out again! hahaha!! now i have a cold.. toasty! hehehe

Today we went to Schamburg.. yeah, it's another mall.. and yes.. shopping for Mom, Sieg and Aby.. Me, Wowie and Dad? we were just in Starbucks.. just hanging.. just watching the 3 shopaholics in our family, run around the mall.. nice noh?! anyway, nothing really happened today.. well.. other than missing the girl.. nothing exciting happened.. hehehe hope something comes up tomorrow..

Temperature:
4 - 5 (wind is 2)

DAY 8: And again, back to the Windy City

As i kissed and hugged her on the train station of Yonge and Bloor yesterday, before me and the girl parted ways and not to see each other for the next few months or years, all i said was "I'll come back for you, I promise" which i know i'll do. I may be exaggerating but that was the lonliest and the longest train ride i've ever experienced in my whole life so far. The fifteen minute ride from Yonge and Bloor to Kennedy Station and the transfer from Kennedy to Lawrence East Station felt like forever.. Maybe the saying "you'll miss the person more, when you're with the person rather than you're not" doesn't apply in this scenario. Though I wish it did.. because it killed me that i knew that when i get back to my aunt's house in Scarborough, she'll still be twenty to thirty miles away, and i could still get to her if i wanted, during that night. We talked before i actually left.. yeah?! but i guess it's just not enough, i just had to work with what i had, and depressngly, all i had was my aunt's phone that night. tsss.. *shakes my head* Ok, just so that you know, i'm not obsessed with the girl.. it's just that, i like the girl, and how i wish she lives back home, or she were back home or she's going back home soon.. there you go i said it. And spending four days with her, just won't cut it.

Anyway, so now, i'm back in Chicago. Back to chatting, emailing and texting. How i wish i was going back to the Philippines tomorrow. At least i know back there, she's gonna be 10,000 miles away and i won't be able to do anything other than text, chat and email. But being here and being just 500 miles away, i know 1 out of 100 chances, my dad will allow me to go back there. Ok, so there's my story.. I don't know, but the last four days was just like a dream that i never expected to have.. i know from who i am, i don't deserve good dreams.. i don't deserve something as surreal as this. So to the owner of the sky.. thank you.. i really appreciate it. I owe you big time.

To the Girl: Missing you already, i'm making the polvoron tomorrow so i can send it to you and your mom as soon as possible. and yeah, did i mention i miss you already?!

Temperature
23 - 26 (not that cold but tomorrow looks promising)

DAY 7: Say Goodbye

"I'll Come Back for you.. I promise.."

DAY 6: The Countrymen, The Dinner and The Piece

Of course, i had to spend at least one whole day with aunt Vicky.. So what did we do?! ok, typical aunt and visiting nephew stuff. i don't want to elaborate on that, it's just too boring.. though we saw Sarah Geronimo in this function since we had a lunch at this All filipino restaurant, and of course there was a shit load of Filipinos. I just realized how cocky filipinos are when they get to another country, i'm not saying all.. but majority of the people.. they get too goddamn cocky that it's irritating already. Very very embarrasing towards people from foregners i just have to say.. it's not that they aren't cocky too, it's just that Filipinos should keep it real and show the other people how nice we really are.

So, anyway.. after that whole fiasco with the country men and aunt Vicky. I asked to be dropped off at the nearest bus stop so that i could go on and get to the TTC (the train) and see the Girl. After a few stops and a few changes on the train, and a half an hour wait.. The girl arrived.. and we went and had dinner at Richtree (this is where she worked). So.. Good food, good meat, and good company. Perfect.. so, there.. i was a scrub tonight, since she didn't want me to go home alone (because i got lost last night remember).. She had to drop me off.. sheesh.. yeah ok i was a scrub so sue me. So just before she got a cab.. I told her my piece.

Ok, so i just had to be honest with her.. so... i told her everything.. everything meaning.. the reason why i'm here.. and the reason why.. __. Just that.. it's up to fate now... Peace.. tomorrow never dies..

Today's Temperature:

5 - 10 (chilly)

DAY 5: Downtown Toronto and the Cabrons

So, i really did push through with not going to Quebec. For some reason, they didn't look that dissapointed, but i'm sure to get it good when we get back to Illinois. So far.. so good! it's all good.

Anyway, so me and the girl spent the whole day together.. literally. We had lunch at this really nice Japanese restaurant (i've never paid so much for sushi in my life!) and watched a movie in the Paramount. Silent Hill sucks by the way, "So Bootleg na yan" haha! Anyway, after everything, we went to this staff party of her's. Full of Mexicans.. i've never seen so much Mexicans packed in one house i'm telling you. There was one from Costa Rican, one half Portugese and half Greek and two filipinos (that's me and the girl). But other than that, it's either Mexican or Canadian. I've never heard so much Cabron's in my life! hahahaha!! Anyway, after a few beers and a quick stop at the local Korean restaurant, the girl forces me to take a cab home... ok.. Cab + 20 miles to Scarborough + Muslim Driver = $40 and as an added bonus, i got lost.. hahha! so basically i just got in..

On tomorrow's agenda, she's got work, so dinner and maybe we'll hang out a bit.. and then Sunday, my last day.. i'll probably go all out.. whatever that means.. Anyways, off to bed.. i think my typing is waking them up.. PEACE!

Temperature:
9 - 17 ok lang.. pero gusto ko talaga ng snow eh!

DAY 4: 10 hours and a Riot across the border

Ok.. so i'm in Toronto already, nice one. 10 hours worth of road trip, 3 stated and a counrty.. what a day what a day anyway. My previous plans of extending here were cancelled due to the guilt trip Mom, Dad and Ninang Vicky gave me. Ok so now i'll be here for the weekend, and i'll have to make the most out of my time. Now, so far.. errm.. not so good.. steady lang. They're dissapointed at me since i don't want to go to Quebec with them and they already paid for my ticket ($120 man!!). Ok, i'm sorry for that, but i got my own reasons why i'm doing this.. i'm not saying that i got my shit straight.. what i'm saying is, this is one of those shit in my life that i just have to do.. make or break. Dad and Mom, i'll make it up to you guys, i swear to God... PROMISE..

Anyway, i'm meeting the girl in a few hours.. ok that's nice.. i'll leave it to that.. i'll update tomorrow. PEACE!!

DAY 3: Chelsea outlet and The Trip across the border

Today was a shopping spree for all of us. For some reason, Dad was somewhat generous and just us (his children) a go signal to use Aby's credit card for shopping. And of course, even though i don't really like shopping.. i knew i shouldn't let this opportunity pass! i don't really know what happened.. his mood suddenly just changed! oh well.. hahaha! anyway, so the whole day was spent on that outlet... and i'm not exaggerating when i say the whole day, i really mean the whole day.. 11:00 am till 9:00 pm.. fo' shizzle! tiring.. but it's alright.. another day wasted on shopping...

In a couple of hours, we'll be driving to Toronto. It's a 9 hour drive without stop overs and probably 10 or more with stop overs. So, after arriving, they're going to Quebec.. and i'm staying behind so i'll be able to see her. It's not actually imperative for me to see her, but after seeing her last christmas and chatting with her for 4 months to today, my inside is telling me that i have to see her since i'm aleady here... cool.. hope everybody understands.. Everybody that counts that is... my, oh my..

So far so good... though i'm shivering for some reason... i need a cig.. catch you guys on the flip side..

Temperature today:
Fair.. high 21 and low 15.. HASSSLE!!!

DAY 2: Fox Valley mall and an argument

So far.. errm.. so good?! maybe, the day was spent on the Fox Valley mall. This is where the real shopping begins.. for them maybe.. for me, just like yesterday i was just there for the ride since shopping really isn't my thing. we haven't been there for at least 2 hours and i see my sister already holding something. haha!! nice!! All I can say is the mall was really small.. and when i say small.. i mean puny, the freakin' parking lot was bigger than the whole mall. If the lot had walls, i probably get lost there other than on the mall. Anyway, the peak of the whole day was when we discussed about my Canadian plans.. so far no good.. they want me to stay there with them for 4 days and deny me with my extension wishes so that i could spend time with her, because of what my dad thinks of immigration on my way back here to Chicago. Of course, i disagreed with them and gave them the "i'll be fine Dad and Mom" speech which i'm not sure if it worked or not. So right now, I can't honestly say that they agree with me already but because of my aunt's endorsment on it's easy to get back to the border.. i think it's going to be all good... i hope.. anyway, that was the day.. so far.. errm... so good?! probably... tomorrow i'm off to an 8 hour roadtrip... NICE!!! hehehe... i'll try to update as soon as i get there... PEACE!!!

DAY 1 : Windy City

So far, so good. I woke up to the smell of Mcgriddles and "Mc"hashbrowns in the kitchen. Apparently, Sieg and Wowie went to the Mcdonald's on the next corner to grab something for breakfast. Nice!! hehe So, after a breakfast and a few games of NBA Street on the cube, we headed straight for downtown to scan the whole of Michigan Avenue in search for places to shop for. Basically, today was like a scouting day.. we were scouting for good places to shop, though we kinda know this place already like the back our hands.. i guess there ain't nothing wrong with double checking.. hehe..

Actually, that's what they did.. yeah, i was with them alright, but i was just there to enjoy the walk around the streets of Down Town Chicago and sharing a few quarters with beggars as an act of public service. hahaha! they were there to shop.. i was there to walk around.. nice noh? hahaha!! but seriously, awhile ago i wanted to tell them to go ahead and just leave me and i'll just take the train going home.. but knowing my mom and dad, they would freak and say "that's just Crazy" hahaha!! oh well C'est la vie! anyway, till tomorrow.. hope something interesting turns up...

i saw something written in nike town awhile ago with Michael Jordan's picture in it dunking.. and there was a caption..

"They made rules and laws to be followed like in any other game.. but gravity isn't one of them.."

nice!! inspiring....

Today's Shopping

- Cd's and DVD's

Back to the Windy City

I wasn't able to blog about leaving.. so i guess here it is. Temperature 5, wind around 0 - 1... Really nice! hehe.. what a drastic change or scenery and weather from the scorching heat in Manila! hehehe PERFFFFECT!!!

This trip, aside from being a panic button from the reality of being in Manila and aside from meeting Mia later this week, is sort of a wake up call from what's under my nose and what's not.. Job opportunities i mean. I wouldn't mind getting a mediocre job here in Chicago as long as it doesn't concern sweeping the streets! hahaha!! (sayang naman degree ko!!) but for the first time, i'm actually considering getting a job as a cook in one of the places here.. ok take note.. a cook.. not a chef!.. hey! you gotta start somewhere right?! so there you go.. so far that's what's been up... and yeah.. I DID MENTION ABOUT BEING FUCKING COLD HERE RIGHT?! WELL.. I'LL SAY IT AGAIN!!! GOD DAMN IN'TS COLD HERE!!! HAHAHA!! WHOOPIE!! the whole family is complaining about the weather but fuck that!! hahaha!! i love it here!!

Ok.. Tomorrows Agenda:

- Mom and Aby is going shopping.. (YETCH!!)
- I'M GOING TO NIKE TOWN! (HAHAHAHA)
- I'M GOING TO FOOT LOCKER! (HAHAHAHA)
- Wowie is scavenger hunting for cheap guitar parts.. (errrm... nice!)
- Sieg is ummm.... ewan ko...
- Dad.... hmm.. is gonna pay for everything?!(hahaha!)

PEACE!! TILL TOMORROW NIGHT! WHEN DAY 1 REALLY STARTS!!
