3-0: The White's Win Against Valencia in Spanich Cup!




English Captain David Beckham was sent off for the first time in a Real Madrid uniform, after recieving two yellow cards in their 3-0 win against Valencia in the Spanish Cup. Albelda the Valencia Captain was also sent off. Raul, Ronaldo and Figo's goal, the latter from penalty, have paved Madrid's way to semifinals. Real Madrid displayed its best football at the game that required it the most. Guti and Solari performed at an excellent level and Zidane's absence ceased to be a cause of concern from the very first minute of play. Raul did an outstanding job just as Ronaldo did with the fantastic second target of the game.

THE MATCH:
3 – REAL MADRID: Cesar; Michel Salgado, Roberto Carlos, Helguera, Raul Bravo; Beckham, Guti, Figo, Solari; Raul and Ronaldo (Cambiasso 90´).
0 – VALENCIA: Palop; Garrido, Ayala, Marchena, Carboni; Albelda, Baraja, Vicente, Rufete (Angulo 61´); Aimar and Mista (Xisco 73´).
GOALS:
1-0, min.32: Raul, shoots from a fantastic centre header by Solari.
2-0, min.80: Ronaldo rounds off a counterattack provoked by Figo.
3-0, min.85: Penalty on Raul, Figo converts it.
REFEREE: Luis Medina Cantelejo (Andalusia Referees Association). He cautioned Solari, Marchena, Helguera and Aimar. Beckham (88´) and Albelda (89´) were sent off.
OTHER FACTS: Spanish Cup quarterfinals, first leg. Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, almost full. Field of play in good conditions
