1-3: The White's Finish 2003 on top of the Table

Real Madrid ran out winners against Mallorca by 1-3, which puts them at top of the table for the beginning of the year. Queiroz' boys had to take some pains to turn the match round, as they really got into trouble when the locals took the lead ten minutes into the game. It was a slip of the white defence, but then Raul and Ronaldo were there to turn the match round. The The Brazilian scored the second and paved the way for the third making the final result a comfortable win for Madrid.

The local target proved a hard blow for Madrid. Zidane and Borja, who had been the leaders of the play, lost their possession and they seemed to be at a loss for a while. But they did not take much longer to show their skills, as their dangerous moves put the home area under threat again. Querioz' boys were undoubtedly getting all the credits for a goal and it eventually came out of Raul's head at stoppage time. The result was then fairer in view of the contribution of each side to the game. The fight was to go on after the break.
